JTEKT is dedicated to providing products and services to assist in the maintenance of JTEKT products so that they can be used safely and continuously by customers. One such product we are proud to introduce is our Bearing Defender portable status monitoring device.

The Bearing Defender portable status monitoring device detects bearing failures to ensure customer operations remain stable.

Routinely monitoring the status of bearings enables customers to purchase replacements in advance for bearings that are likely to break and to develop optimized maintenance plans, contributing to improved productivity.

JTEKT Bearings (formerly known as Koyo Bearings) is gradually expanding its business activities from OEM markets to the MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) market via distributors. Recently a move closer to the "final user" was made with the introduction of the ONI wheel bearing for the (semi)professional bicycle race market. The ONI bearing that features extremely low friction combined with superior durability, was tested during the Amsterdam triathlon race in September 2023. "Keeping pace during the transformation towards electric mobility"

Cti Berlin symposium
The CTI Symposium brings together experts and decision-makers from passenger car and commercial vehicle OEMs, system and component suppliers, engineering service providers, software developers and market specialists to provide you with the latest developments, innovations and ideas, valuable suggestions and new contacts.

Today’s challenges
The automotive industry is rapidly moving towards zero-emission mobility, which is possible with a variety of drive systems and primary energy sources. Although the industry has gained valuable experience in the mass production of low-emission vehicles, the key question remains: What solutions will enable the necessary transition to carbon-neutral powertrains across all segments and markets, and who are the right business partners to achieve these goals?

JTEKT’s role
JTEKT is developing several technologies that strongly contribute to the future of zero-emission mobility, including advanced steering systems (steer-by-wire, a. o.), compact and low weight drive train systems (ultra compact differentials, a.o.) and rolling bearings (ultra compact bearings, a. o.).  These new technologies are currently being developed, tested and validated together with major OEM carmakers.

JTEKT’s displays
If you happen to be visiting the Cti symposium, please join us on our small JTEKT booth (A-8) to see some of our products, discuss and exchange about such new technologies and to see where we can work together in the future.

JTEKT Bearings (formerly Koyo Bearings) is a global manufacturer and supplier of highly engineered bearings for a large diversity of demanding industrial applications including Agricultural & Construction machines. In these industries products must meet the strictest specifications related to robustness, reliability and durability. Increasingly low friction is becoming important to reduce energy consumption, especially considering ongoing electrification.

To get an impression about these applications and the types of JTEKT bearings involved, here is a link to a Youtube video related to such products:

For MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machines in hospitals, special non-magnetic bearings are used for optimal medical scanning performance. JTEKT bearings (formerly Koyo bearings) developed a special ceramic bearing for such applications. For more details please see related article @Bearing-News, via:

FAQ
